EU Taxonomy

EU classification system defining which economic activities qualify as environmentally sustainable.

The EU Taxonomy is a classification system that defines which economic activities are considered 'environmentally sustainable'. Companies report their Taxonomy-aligned revenue, capital expenditure (CapEx) and operating expenditure (OpEx).

An activity is aligned when it makes a substantial contribution to at least one of the six environmental objectives, does no significant harm (DNSH) to the others, and meets minimum social safeguards.

The six environmental objectives are: climate change mitigation, climate change adaptation, sustainable use of water and marine resources, circular economy, pollution prevention, and protection of biodiversity.
