Materiality assessment
Process of identifying the sustainability topics that are material to a company under double materiality.
The materiality assessment is the structured process through which a company identifies, evaluates and prioritises its material sustainability topics. It forms the basis for the scope, structure and content of the CSRD report.
Typical steps include: understanding the business model and value chain, stakeholder engagement, IRO analysis (impacts, risks, opportunities), threshold definition, and consolidation of material topics.
